The Chair of the Board of Taxation, Michael Andrew, on Fri 29.4.2016 launched Sounding Board: Ideas for better tax regulation which is an online platform which allows users to submit, discuss and vote on tax system improvement ideas. “Stakeholders with day-to-day experience in navigating the system are encouraged to submit ideas on how to improve the tax system, and provide feedback on options,” said Mr Andrew.
The Chair said the Board was looking for ideas to “cut red tape” and “reduce compliance burdens”. Mr Andrew said the ideas will be prioritised by the community and that the Board, Treasury and the ATO will implement the best ideas. The platform is open to all tax bodies, tax professionals, businesses or members of the public who wish to provide their view on changes to the tax regulation system.
The platform is available at: https://taxboard.ideascale.com/
