The Treasurer has affirmed that the Government will provide assistance to Queensland to rebuild after the recent flood disasters, but will do so without a flood levy. Although acknowledging the severity of the disaster, the Treasurer said it was not on the same scale as the disasters of 2011, and that the Government will account for the expenditure “in the usual way”.
