The following Bills received Royal Assent on 25 February 2015:
- Treasury Legislation (Repeal Day) Bill 2014 – Assent as Treasury Legislation (Repeal Day) Act 2015, Act No 2 of 2015 – makes various amendments, including rewriting ss 6AA and 7A of the ITAA 1936 into the ITAA 1997 and the Taxation Administration Act 1953.
- Amending Acts 1970 to 1979 Repeal Bill 2014 – Assent as Amending Acts 1970 to 1979 Repeal Act 2015, Act No 3 of 2015 – repeals over 650 Acts including the Income Tax Assessment Act 1970 (concerns tax and convertible notes – Act No 87 of 1970), and Income Tax Assessment Act 1971 (Act No 6 of 1971 – concerns amendments to s 62AA of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936-1970).
- Statute Law Revision Bill (No 2) 2014 – Assent as Statute Law Revision Act (No 1) 2015, Act No 5 of 2015 – corrects technical errors that have occurred in Acts and amending Acts as a result of drafting and clerical mistakes, modernise language, and repeal spent and obsolete provisions and Acts.
- Crimes Legislation Amendment (Unexplained Wealth and Other Measures) Bill 2014 – Assent as Crimes Legislation Amendment (Unexplained Wealth and Other Measures) Act 2015, Act No 6 of 2015 – contains measures to implement recommendations made by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Law Enforcement (the PJC-LE) in its final report on its inquiry into Commonwealth unexplained wealth legislation and arrangements. The inquiry took evidence from the Australian Crime Commission, the ATO, the AFP and others. Among other things, the Bill makes a number of amendments to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
