The ATO has advised that Australia has signed new Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA) and Agreements to allocate taxing rights over certain income and transfer pricing adjustments (ATR) with:

  • Aruba – both the TIEA and ATR entered into force on 17 August 2011.
  • Cook Islands – the TIEA entered into force on 2 September 2011, and the ATR will enter into force after Australia and the Cook Islands have completed their domestic requirements.
  • Guernsey – the TIEA entered into force on 27 July 2010, and the ATR entered into force on 24 August 2011.
  • Samoa – the TIEA entered into force on 24 February 2012, and the ATR will enter into force after Australia and Samoa have completed their domestic requirements.

The agreements provide for the exchange of information on request in both criminal and civil matters.
