The report of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services on the Superannuation Legislation Amendment (Service Providers and Other Governance Measures) Bill 2012 has been tabled in Parliament. The Committee made 9 recommendations, including amendments concerning notices in writing about complaints re TPD claims, non-death benefit complaints, penalties for certain offences, APRA guidance re infringement notices. The Bill, which is still before the House of Reps, contains the 4th and final tranche of the MySuper and governance measures as part of the Government’s Stronger Super reforms.
