The Parliamentary Joint Committee on the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity is conducting an inquiry into the integrity of overseas Commonwealth law enforcement operations. The Inquiry has been asked to report on the management of corruption risks arising from the international operations of Commonwealth law enforcement agencies, including the ATO, Australian Federal Police, Australian Crime Commission, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, and AUSTRAC.

The Committee has just released the transcript of its hearing conducted in Sydney on 4 October 2012. It is on the Committee’s website. Witnesses appearing were from Austrade, Dept of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Griffith University. The Committee had conducted earlier hearings in March, May and August 2012 and has to date received 12 submissions.
