The Federal Parliamentary Library has released:
- Bill Digest No 86, 2011-12 on the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax Assessment Amendment Bill 2011; and
- Bill Digest No 85, 2011-12 on the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax (Imposition-General) Bill 2011, Petroleum Resource Rent Tax (Imposition-Customs) Bill 2011 and Petroleum Resource Rent Tax (Imposition-Excise) Bill 2011.
The digests examine the purpose of the Bills, their features, constitutional considerations, the main issues and key provisions of the Bills. The Bills have passed the House of Reps and will be debated in the Senate after it resumes on 7 February 2012. They have been referred to the Senate Standing Committee on Economics for inquiry and report by 14 March 2012.
