The Fiscal Repair Amendment Bill 2012 (Qld) was introduced into the Qld Legislative Assembly on 11 September 2012.

The Bill proposes to amend the following Qld Acts to implement most of the 2012-13 Budget proposals: the Duties Act 2001; the First Home Owner Grant Act 2000; the Mineral Resources Act 1989; the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004; the State Penalties Enforcement Act 1999; and the Taxation Administration Act 2001.

The Budget amendments covered by the Bill concern changes to: the transfer duty rates; prospecting and exploration permits and authorities; landholder – duty on resource rights and items fixed to land; FHOG changes; penalty for incorrect payment of royalty under the monthly payment arrangements; interest for unpaid royalties; late lodgment fee for petroleum royalty return; State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) – enhanced information access and new confidentiality provisions.

Awaits Royal Assent

The Fiscal Repair Amendment Bill 2012 (Qld) has passed all stages of the Qld Parliament without amendment and awaits Royal Assent.
