The Chairman of the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) Dale Boucher has released his latest message reminding tax agents and BAS agents who became registered by notifying the Board to renew their registration before it expires on 1 March 2012. Mr Boucher is referring to tax agent and BAS agent “notifiers” who notified the Board that they had been providing tax or BAS agent services prior to 1 March 2010.
Although the nominated tax agent and BAS agent renewal deadline of 29 January 2012 for notifiers has now passed, and while the Board strongly suggests all agents to renew 30 days before expiration, Mr Boucher said agents should not be concerned if they still have not lodged their renewal application online, however, he said they need to renew before 1 March 2012. He said the Board will continue to accept renewal applications from “notifiers” up until 29 February 2012.
