The Tax Commissioner will appear before the Federal Parliamentary Joint Committee on Public Accounts and Audit in Canberra tomorrow [Wed 26.6.2013]. Tax Commissioner Chris Jordan will be joined by the Auditor-General, the Inspector-General of Taxation, and the Commonwealth Ombudsman in a broad-ranging discussion on the present and future of tax administration. Committee Chair Rob Oakeshott said annual hearings with the Commissioner and his scrutineers ensure continuous improvement in the field of tax administration. “Mr Jordan’s first appearance before the committee will enable him to outline his strategic vision for the future of the ATO,” he said.

The hearing will be broadcast live from Committee Room 2R1, Parliament House, Canberra from approximately 11:15am via http://www.aph.gov.au/live.
