APRA Thur 21.2.2013, released its December 2012 Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication. Total estimated assets, which include the assets of self-managed super funds and the balance of life office statutory funds, rose by id=”mce_marker”92.2bn (14.6%) to id=”mce_marker”.51 trillion over the 12 months to 31 December 2012, taking into account an increase of $47.1bn (3.2%) in total assets over the December quarter. Over the December quarter, the total estimated assets of industry funds increased by 4.8% (id=”mce_marker”3.5bn) to $294.7bn, retail funds by 3.2% (id=”mce_marker”2.3bn) to $398.1bn and public sector funds by 2.0% ($4.6bn) to $236.9bn. Total assets of corporate funds decreased by 0.9% ($0.5bn) to $57.8bn. SMSF assets increased by 3.9% (id=”mce_marker”8bn) to $474.4bn.
