The following Bills received Royal Assent on Tue 4.12.2012:
- Treasury Legislation Amendment (Unclaimed Money and Other Measures) Bill 2012 – Act No 176 of 2012. The Bill makes amendments to various Acts to bring forward the time at which money is recognised under the relevant law as lost or unclaimed [and to increase the threshold at which money can be treated as lost or unclaimed, and then also to help small balances be re-united with their owners and to let tax-free CPI interest accrue on these unclaimed or lost amounts];
- Freedom of Information Amendment (Parliamentary Budget Office) Bill 2012 – Act No 177 of 2012. It amends the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and Privacy Act 1988 to provide a new FOI exemption for documents related to requests to the Parliamentary Budget Office;
- Customs Amendment (Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation and Other Measures) Bill 2012 – Act No 172 of 2012;
- Customs Tariff Amendment (Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2012 – Act No 173 of 2012.
