The Statute Law Revision Bill (No 2) 2014 was introduced in the House of Reps on Wed 22.10.2014. It proposes to correct technical errors that have occurred in Acts and amending Acts as a result of drafting and clerical mistakes, modernise language, and repeal spent and obsolete provisions and Acts, which will result in the repeal of approximately 30 pages of spent and obsolete provisions.
Acts affected include the A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999, Family Assistance and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2013, Data-matching Program (Assistance and Tax) Act 1990, Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993, Superannuation Legislation Amendment (Service Providers and Other Governance Measures) Act 2013, Crimes Act 1914, Customs Act 1901, Customs Tariff Act 1995.
