The Customs Amendment (Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2014 and Customs Tariff Amendment (Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2014 have now passed all stages without amendment and effectively await Royal Assent, after being passed by the Senate on Wed 1.10.2014. The Bills will give effect to certain obligations under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and South Korea.

Korea-Aust FTA Bills receive Assent

The Customs Amendment (Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2014 and the Customs Tariff Amendment (Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Bill 2014 received Royal Assent on Tue 21.10.2014, as Act Nos 113 and 114, respectively, of 2014. They give effect to certain obligations under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and South Korea. The Bills had passed all stages without amendment.
